International Classification of Titanium Alloys
1. By Alloy Type
Commercially Pure Titanium (CP Ti)
Grade 1 (ASTM), TA1/TA2 (GB), BT1-00 (GOST) – Low strength, high ductility, excellent corrosion resistance.
Grade 2 (ASTM), TA2/TA3 (GB), BT1-0 (GOST) – Moderate strength, widely used in industrial applications.
Grade 3 & 4 (ASTM), TA3 (GB) – Higher strength than Grades 1 & 2, used in pressure vessels.
Alpha (α) & Near-Alpha Alloys
Ti-5Al-2.5Sn (Grade 6, ASTM), TA7 (GB), BT5-1 (GOST) – High-temperature stability, used in aerospace.
Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V (US), Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (ASTM B381) – Advanced aerospace alloys.
Alpha-Beta (α+β) Alloys
Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5, ASTM), TC4 (GB), BT6 (GOST) – Most widely used alloy (aerospace, medical).
Ti-6Al-4V ELI (ASTM F136, GB/T 13810) – Extra-low interstitial (ELI) for medical implants.
Ti-3Al-2.5V (Grade 9, ASTM), TC1 (GB) – High ductility, used in tubing.
Beta (β) & Near-Beta Alloys
Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al (ASTM), TB6 (GB) – High strength, used in aircraft landing gear.
Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al (ASTM B265), TB5 (GB) – Cold-formable, aerospace applications.
Ti-13Nb-13Zr (ASTM F1713), TB8 (GB) – Biomedical applications (low modulus).
